Preschool Curriculum

Climbing to the next level, this is the bridging year between your child’s playgroup and kindergarten years. Over the course of this year, your child will reach new heights in their development as they refine their social skills, strengthen friendships and cultivated their character.  The Mountaineers will engage in activities that develop friendships, encourage sharing, and foster cooperation among their peers.

Through our reading program, your child will take their first steps in reading.  Our reading program is fun and engaging as we present illustrated books with enjoyable stories.  We have over 200 books in our library so your child will never be bored.  This will ensure story time will always be exciting and interesting as a child begins to explore various books through “picture walk”.  Your child will develop a love for reading he or she becomes aware of story structure, settings, characters and major events.  Your child will be immersed in engaging activates that teach letters and sounds through rhymes, movements and fun activities.

Building upon our international play-based curriculum from their playgroup years, we will begin to introduce our international preschool curriculum that will continue to focus on fostering your child’s intellect while engaging them artistically and experientially. Your child will be asked to reason and write, to paint, sing, build, act, and draw.  The lessons are designed to harness your child’s imagination while challenging their mind. The preschool international curriculum is developed following accredited academic guidelines and standards from across the United States and is written to cover the full range of subjects for each grade level.  Through our approach, your child will become invested and engaged in their own learning.  The focus is more on teaching the process of learning rather than on the product. As your child discovers the process of learning, they will enjoy their journey even more which will greatly enhance your child’s learning experience as they grow and mature throughout the next phases of their educational journey.

Both our play-based and preschool international curriculum is used in conjunction with local learning materials to provide an excellent blend of local learning and international exposure.  This along with our commitment to instilling the strong character in line with our twelve core values provides a well-rounded, enriching and character-strong education for your child’s preschool years.
